SHELDON: THE AIRLINES AND AIRPORTS HAVE THEIR COVID-19 RULES FOR FLYING, AND NOW SO DOES TSA, AND IT STARTS WITH MARKERS TO ESTABLISH SAFE DISTANCE THING. RULES TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS, CHECKING IN WITH TSA MIGHT APPEAR TO BE DIFFERENT FOR TRAVELERS. >> THEY HAD GLOVES ON, THEY HAD MASKS ON, SO IT WAS HELPFUL. SHELDON: SAFE DISTANCE THING, CARRYING FOOD ON FLIGHTS, THESE OTHER MODIFICATIONS TRAVELERS WILL SEE AT THE TSA SECURITY CHECKPOINT. MARKERS ON THE FLOOR WILL PROBABLY BE THE FIRST THING THE PUBLIC NOTICES RIGHT AWAY. SOME OF THE NEW RULES INCLUDE A SIX FEET DISTANCE BETWEEN PASSENGERS AT THE CHECKPOINT. WEARING MASKS ARE MANDATORY. AND FOOD MUST BE CARRIED AND A CLEAR CONTAINER, REMOVED FROM LUGGAGE AND PLACED ON A TRAY BEFORE GOING THROUGH X-RAY. ALSO, TSA AGENTS WILL NOT TOUCH BOARDING PASSES. Passengers flying through Pittsburgh International and other airports across the country will notice new rules when lining up at the Transportation Safety Administration checkpoint.Watch the full report in the video player above. In a statement released by the agency, it says the public should be aware that wearing masks is mandatory, a 6 foot safe distancing rule is in place while standing in line, TSA agents will not touch boarding passes, which means the ticket holder must scan their own boarding pass and food must be carried in a clear container, and must be removed from luggage before going through X-ray.Markers are placed on the floor so travelers know where to stand while in line.
