Pittsburgh; Then | Pittsburgh; Now

Daviea Serbin Davis, 2007

This work depicts the convergence of Nature and Technology. Although people may feel separated from the natural world through humankind’s progress, people are still just a bunch of reluctantly sentient animals. If perspective is zoomed out far enough, one realizes that all technology is a part of the natural evolution of this planet, because humans are of this planet. Nature and technology are meant to collaborate to thrive. This is a gentle reminder that both can only exist in balance and mutual respect and encourages viewers to think about how to protect the planet which has given everything.
