Stray is a Pittsburgh-based ensemble dedicated to the dissemination of music by composers and performers from Pittsburgh. From the music of Billy Strayhorn to Mary Lou Williams to Henry Mancini to Erroll Garner to Fred Rogers, Pittsburgh’s contribution to the history of jazz is significant and unique. Composed of saxophonist and singer Jeff Siegfried, and pianist Mark Micchelli, Stray aims to render interpretations of these compositions that do justice to their subtle artistry while moving the genre of jazz forward.
