Kevin was honored as Jazz artist of the year 2018 by the Pennsylvania House of Representative which he was recognized on the floor in Harrisburg\, PA. and received a citation to honor him. In addition Kevin has received several awards which include three “Best Jazz Performer Awards” from renowned local urban radio station WAMO; the WQED Harry Schwab Excellence in the arts award; Best Jazz Performer Champions Association; Pittsburgh City Paper “top three jazz performers”. \nKevin recently toured with and was the musical director for jazz saxophone legend Ronnie Laws\, also recorded and performed with saxophonist Marion Meadows\, Norman Connors\, Lonnie Liston Smith\, Najee\, and George Benson. In addition has shared the stage with Jonathan Butler\, Cameo\, Roy Ayers\, Pieces of a dream\, Joe McBride and\nJohn Legend. \nKevin Howardʼs smooth dynamic sound\, warm personality and infectious smile will have you yearning for more. Together with his band of world class musicians\, the sounds you experience are tantalizing\, smooth\, dynamic \, and mesmerizing. DESCRIPTION:Erik Lawrence ​has toured the world as a saxophonist\, flutist and composer\, sometimes with his own original groups and often in support of a wide variety of legendary artists\, from ​The Band\,​ ​Levon Helm\, Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello ​to C​ hico Hamilton a​ nd ​Sonny Sharrock​\, ​from ​Tibetans ​Yungchen Lamo a​ nd ​Nawhang Khechog ​to ​Poet Robert Pinsky​\, ​from David Amram t​ o the ​Spin Doctors​\, ​My Morning Jacket\, Roger Waters​\, ​Joan Osborne\, Bob Weird and Phil Lesh\, Aaron Neville\, Hubert Sumlin\, Buddy Miles\, Henry Butler\, Big Chief Russell Moore a​ nd countless others. He’s currently a member of the legendary band​ Little Feat​ and ​Steven Bernstein’s Millennial Territory Orchestra. \nHe has appeared on two Grammy winning Albums and two Platinum records. Along the way he has paid close attention to the soul of the music and how it reaches people\, how it has reached him since he began playing music at the age of 5. Much of his work centers around tone of the many wind instruments he plays. He has sought the instruction of several master sound and vibrational healers and continues to learn about both ancient and modern healing modalities. \nIn addition to a busy concert and recording schedule\, Erik performs ​Musically Guided Meditations\,​ which he calls Sound Sanctuary. ​Often performed solo or with one\, two or three other like-minded musicians\, these are intended to calm\, uplift and respond to the listener and help them to attain a higher sense of peace and confidence.

DESCRIPTION:Lee Robinson is known for blending jazz improvisation with funk\, fusion\, original compositions\, and contemporary music for over 40 years\, both locally and nationally. In 1979\, he founded ISKA\, his first professional jazz quartet\, which has become his most recognized ensemble. ISKA features some of the region’s most innovative musicians. \nAs a music and arts experimenter\, Lee has collaborated with poets\, actors\, and visual artists on various projects. He made an appearance as a street saxophonist in the film “Cemetery Club\,” and his original music score is featured in the PBS documentary “JOBS: A Way Out.” Lee Robinson has opened for notable acts such as Stanley Clarke and Bachman\, Turner\, Overdrive\, and they have performed alongside numerous respected musicians.

Layovers never sounded so good!  \nThe Pittsburgh International Airport presents “JAZZPORT” series\, which highlights Pittsburgh’s most promising artists\, flying high in support of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival presented by the August Wilson Center and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. \nPerformer-composer and curator Caleb Alexander Smith is an Ohio born multi-faceted artist interested in traversing diverse sonic landscapes within worlds of his own creation\, education as healing\, and\, above all\, storytelling. Through his art Caleb wants experiencers to be guided through a journey that will surprise them and put them in a state of inquisition. He wants his audiences to ask questions; asking questions is the first step in the pursuit of knowledge (one of life’s most important pursuits). \nCaleb studied at the Oberlin and New England Conservatories of Music\, as well as the Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter Jazz Ahead and the Banff Centre’s International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music. \nMost recently\, Caleb premiered an original piece\, commissioned by Sugar Hill Salon\, for woodwind trio at Lucille’s Harlem. Caleb has performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for their Flight into Egypt: Black Artists and Ancient Egypt\, 1876–Now exhibit\, premiering Zekkereya El-magharbel’s commission piece\, Landscapes of the Northeast. Caleb has also performed with Lauryn Hill\, Terrence Blanchard\, Lonnie Holley\, John Clayton\, and as a freelancer across the Midwest and in New York City. In 2022 Caleb embarked on a month-long tour through Europe (Italy\, Germany\, and the Netherlands) with Cleveland based group Mourning [A] BLKstar. With regard to recorded music\, Caleb can be heard on Dan Bruce’s Time to Mind the Mystics\, Micah Thomas’ Mountains\, and on his Instagram profile at calebapple123. \nCaleb has premiered original works at Oberlin Conservatory of Music\, Jazz at Lincoln Center\, Close Up NYC\, and at Lucille’s Harlem in collaboration with Sugar Hill Salon. \nCaleb’s primary mediums are piano/keyboards\, trombone\, flute\, and written pieces of fiction.
