DESCRIPTION:National Recording Artist Kevin Howard is a world class keyboardist\, writer\, composer and producer. Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and now living in Maryland. Kevin was honored as jazz artist of the year 2018 by the Pennsylvania House of Representative which he was recognized on the floor in Harrisburg\, PA and received a citation to honor him. \nIn addition\, Kevin has received several awards which include three “Best Jazz Performer Awards” from renowned local urban radio station WAMO; the WQED Harry Schwab Excellence in the arts award; Best Jazz Performer Champions Association; Pittsburgh City Paper “top three jazz performers”. Kevin\, along with his band served as the Pittsburgh’s WJJJ Smooth Jazz Band for more than two years\, performing at various events sponsored by the radio station. \nKevin recently toured with and was the musical director for jazz saxophone legend Ronnie Laws\, also recorded and performed with saxophonist Marion Meadows\, Norman Connors\, Lonnie Liston Smith\, Najee\, and George Benson. In addition\, has shared the stage with Jonathan Butler\, Cameo\, Roy Ayers\, Pieces of a dream\, Joe McBride and John Legend.

Now\, she writes and produces her own music\, performing either as a solo act or with a supporting band. Her music is a gentle\, foggy fusion of R&B beats and lo-fi pop melodies with a soul-inflected vocal performance. She also adds elements of Hip-Hop and spoken word in a unique way. A rising voice to represent the Kansas City music scene\, Jass’s ability to shift genres while retaining her own artistic voice is a way of both honoring and building upon the music traditions of Kansas City.
