Why PIT?
Innovation in Cargo
Simply put, we are driven by innovation – it is part of who we are at PIT. Innovation gives way to an airport cargo infrastructure that delivers bottom-line results, saving you time and money.
Our culture of innovation propels the partnerships that keep air cargo flying throughout the world, and the PIT team is ready to work with you to accomplish exactly that. At PIT, we practice adaptation through innovation, which means we listen to our cargo partners. Whether your cargo is moving domestically or internationally, when you fly through PIT, you are flying with the airport team that values you, your goals and your cargo.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel + Cargo
Pittsburgh International Airport is committed to maintaining greener, cleaner airport operations. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is one of its first steps to do so. SAF can reduce carbon emissions by an average of 80 percent – creating progress in the aviation industry and bettering the environment.
As part of Pittsburgh International Airport’s commitment to sustainability, Pittsburgh aims to be the first airport in the world to produce sustainable aviation fuel on-site. The airport has partnered with organizations, including local Western Pennsylvania energy leader CNX Resources, to build a SAF and hydrogen production facility on its campus.
SAF is a more sustainable alternative for jet fuel. And Pittsburgh’s dedication to SAF production aligns with aviation’s general goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, positioning Pittsburgh as an emerging leader in the hydrogen and SAF industries.
