Reach is a large-scale interactive mural and collaborative musical instrument. There are no visible electronics, but when visitors touch both the moon and a star –either alone or by holding hands with others–a tone is played. Pittsburgh is the city of bridges, so the original idea of reaching across a space to create connections was inspired by the city’s skyline. The original version was created for his first artist residency at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, and he’s grateful for the opportunity to revisit it in a refreshed, modern way.
