Aaleah Oliver

Aaleah Oliver is a storyteller and cultural producer. Born and raised in New Jersey and now living in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, she is a rising tide, bringing her loved ones with her. She is called to enrich the collective imagination with wonder, possibility, and remembrance.
Through stories: written, spoken, and sung, she creates spaces for people to form authentic, fully embodied connections. She is passionate about bringing people together through music and storytelling, harnessing these connections to improve the quality of life for all she reaches.
Rooted in music, Aaleah creates work centered on faith in God, love, and life. She uses music as both a sounding board and a tool to shape the world she longs to live in. Her stories draw from her daily reflections and travels, as well as the lived experiences and folktales passed down from elders. Her practice is shaped by Sundays and Thursdays spent learning how to fly using her hands, feet, and rhythm.
For Aaleah, a song is a vehicle for transition. It marks the passing of time, the carrying of torches, and the movement between who we were and who we are becoming. She believes our bodies are instruments, shaped by it all.
Her accomplishments include her TEDx talk As Seen from the In-Between, recognition as a Poetry Out Loud State Finalist, and the release of her debut EP Free to Roam. She is also a featured vocalist and songwriter on collaborative projects, a contributor to the BlackteaBrownsuga Network, and a musician with the Lullaby Project Pittsburgh, where she creates lullabies and musical dedications for parents, caregivers, and their children.
