How long before my flight should I arrive at the airport?

We recommend arriving at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight. For all flights during peak travel times, including flights departing between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., we recommend arriving two to three hours in advance.

How early do the airport and airline ticket counters open?

The airport is open 24/7, however the security checkpoints at the airport are closed from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. daily. The hours of operation for the airline ticket counters vary depending on the incoming and outgoing flights for the day. Please contact your airline for specific hours.

How do I request a wheelchair?

It is recommended to request a wheelchair when booking the airline reservation. They can also be requested at the airline’s ticket counter. The information desk on the first level of the pre-security terminal can also assist with dispatching the wheelchair from this level.

Does Pittsburgh International Airport offer curbside check-in?

  • Southwest Airlines offers curbside check-in on the public departures curb.
  • American Airlines offers curbside check-in on the public departures curb from 4:00 am to 11:30 am daily.

How much does it cost to park?

Where do I pick up my rideshare?

The pick-up location for Uber/Lyft is on the first level across the commercial curb from Door 7. Ground Transportation Coordinators are located on the commercial curb for additional assistance.

Does Pittsburgh International Airport have a cell phone lot?

Drivers may pull into the Free Wait Lot to wait for arriving passengers as there is no charge for the first hour of parking in this lot. Once passengers have deplaned and collected their luggage, they can then easily be picked up outside of the baggage claim area on the Arrivals curb.

Can I meet a passenger at the gate without a ticket?

Only ticketed individuals are able to access the post-security terminal where the gates are located. Individuals may request a pass from the appropriate airline for access to meet a passenger under the age of 18. It is at the discretion of the airlines to issue these passes.

Does my child need identification?

Children under 18 do not need a form of identification to pass through security. However, if flying internationally, a Passport is required. Please check with your airline to see if they require specific documentation.

Are there lockers or luggage storage areas at Pittsburgh International Airport?

What can I bring on the plane/through security?

Travelers packing liquids in their carry-on bags must follow TSA’s “3-1-1” rule, which says that liquids must be in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces, and these items must be placed in one quart-size bag in one bin to go through screening. Additionally, passengers must be prepared to remove jackets and place them in a bin, along with electronic devices larger than cell phones during the security screening process. Does Pittsburgh International Airport have a USO Center?

Located near Gate C2, the Pittsburgh International Airport USO Center provides a respite from the busy travel scene for members of the military and their families. Active and retired members of the United States Military are welcome to visit this special room, which provides work stations, a spot to watch television and an area to spend time with family.

Where can I smoke in the terminal?

Smoking is prohibited inside the terminal and on the outdoor terraces. There are designated smoking areas at the far ends on the curbs of the Departures, Arrivals and Ground Levels of the pre-security terminal.

Does the airport have animal relief areas?

An outdoor animal relief area is located outside in the grassy area next to the covered walkway connecting the terminal garage and the pre-security terminal, and inside the post-security terminal in Concourse D.

How do I contact Lost and Found?

If you have lost an item in a common area such as a restroom, baggage claim, concessions, parking lots or at the TSA security checkpoint, please file a report. We will be in touch with you regarding the status of your lost item.

Where can I meet an arriving passenger?

The best location to meet an arriving passenger in the terminal is at the Welcome Point located on the Arrivals Level between the North and South terraces. This area is where all domestic and international arriving passengers pass through on their way to retrieve their baggage or pick up their ground transportation.

How do I submit a lost luggage claim?

Checked luggage is handled by the airline. Please file a claim directly with your airline.

Can I still fly without a REAL ID?

A REAL ID compliant driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification (like a valid passport, U.S. military ID, or DHS Trusted Traveler card) is required to board a domestic flight within the U.S. Travelers who do not have a government accepted ID are still being allowed to travel. TSA could at any time only allow travelers with an accepted ID to board a domestic flight. Please get an acceptable form of ID prior to traveling.
