The Transformed PIT | Roadways & Bridges
PIT’s new landside terminal is connected directly to its airside, replacing the underground people-mover train connection. PIT’s roadway system was redesigned to provide efficient access to the terminal and parking garage while improving traffic flow for arrivals, departures, rental cars, buses, rideshares and commercial vehicles. The new roadway and bridge system has been transformed to include:
About 4 miles of new roadways (27 lane-miles) with connectors tied intuitively into the new terminal complex
An award-winning 1,300-foot dual-level terminal bridge that brings vehicles directly to departures, arrivals and ground transportation areas
A network of new ramps and smaller bridges
