Getting Ready for Takeoff & Ready for Takeoff

Inspiring Careers through Education

Getting Ready for Takeoff and Ready for Takeoff provide unique aviation learning experiences for today’s youth. Getting Ready for Takeoff invites elementary students to the airport and gives them access to hands-on learning and a behind-the-scenes view of the aviation industry. In Ready for Takeoff, middle school students explore the airport without ever leaving their schools. Allegheny County Airport Authority team members visit schools to provide an inside look at life as an airport employee. Through these programs, children connect classroom learning with their lives outside of school, inspiring them to consider the real-world applications their studies have on their future careers.
