As a system of airports, we have connected our people and our communities to the world for nearly 70 years – we appreciate and value the differences of culture, people and perspectives. Diversity, equity and inclusion are not just words; they are core principles, driven into every action we take and decision we make.

Through the management of Pittsburgh International and Allegheny County Airports, the Allegheny County Airport Authority’s (ACAA) core responsibility is to connect our many communities – all with rich cultures, deep histories and diverse peoples – to the world. Put simply – our main function as airports is to make the world open to and for all.

We are a reflection of our distinct communities, and we are committed to making ACAA as diverse as our local neighborhoods, the travelers who come through our airports and the global regions we serve. Our purpose is not about being politically correct; it is about actions. We are redefining what it means to be an airport. Building what we’ve termed a Smarter Airport encompasses everything that goes into exceeding traveler needs and getting aircraft into the air safely, on time, and to their destinations.

Being a Smarter Airport changes the way we work, act and think for the benefit of all our stakeholders. This requires us to build an organization that is engaged, open and committed to a culture that values the passion, innovation and expertise of our all our employees.

We are guided by four simple and common-sense principles:

We are proud that diversity, equity, a focus on inclusion and fairness are found in our team members, in our processes and in our thinking. But we are not done. We are strengthening our focus on DE&I and by doing so, we will be in a better position to serve our customer, transform lives and pioneer the next generation of aviation and Pittsburgh leaders.
