MEDIA ADVISORY: Pittsburgh International Airport to Celebrate Inaugural Flight to Sarasota-Bradenton on Allegiant Wednesday, April 11

What: Pittsburgh International Airport officials will recognize the start of new year-round nonstop service to Sarasota-Bradenton on Allegiant with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and gate event for passengers on the inaugural departing flight.
 
Passengers will receive refreshments, giveaways and prizes, as well as a sendoff from the Pittsburgh Pirates’ racing pierogies mascots. Weather permitting, a celebratory water arch salute for the departing aircraft will be provided by airport firefighters.
 
The flight will operate two times per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays in April and on Thursdays and Sundays beginning in May.
 
Over the past three years, Allegiant has grown to serve 11 top leisure destinations including Myrtle Beach, Austin, Charleston and New Orleans making it the fourth largest carrier at Pittsburgh International Airport by nonstop destinations offered.
 
When:  Wednesday, April 11, beginning at 2:45 p.m.; Flight departs at 4:20 p.m.
 
Where: Airside Terminal, Concourse C
