PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh International Airport, in partnership with local tech startup Duolingo, has added 77 new Wi-Fi access points in the Airside Terminal to improve internet access for travelers.
The new Extreme Networks access points feature the latest in Wi-Fi technology that provides a faster, stronger internet connection and improved network coverage, allowing travelers to login and access the Wi-Fi on multiple enabled devices.
Wi-Fi can be accessed in both the Landside and Airside Terminals, throughout all four concourses and in the Center Core food courts. In order to connect, users open a browser and are directed to the Duolingo.com/jobs, where they click to accept the terms. There are no passwords, fees, or subscriptions required. Pittsburgh was the first airport in the country to offer free Wi-Fi in 2003, and has upgraded the service numerous times over the past 14 years.
"As part of our commitment to improving customer service, this upgrade of our free Wi-Fi will allow business and leisure travelers the ability to maintain important online connections while at the airport,” said Allegheny Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis. “This is something travelers have demanded, and we have responded.
