Neon Vanadium

February 13, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Neon Vanadium was a project formed by brothers Cameron and Logan Balkovec in the summer of 2020. They had both wanted to play in a band, and because Cameron sang and played guitar and Logan was a drummer it was a strong foundation for a beginning. Later that fall, Jacob Maxeiner joined on lead guitar after jamming with Cameron a few times before being introduced to Logan.

For a while, the three boys played as a trio, occasionally adding a bass player or saxophone player for extra sound, but never having anyone stick until they auditioned Matthew Kustra for bass in May of 2022. From there he had become the bands permanent bass player. From here on out the group decided to take a more progressive approach to their original music, either re-writing songs or completely scrapping them. In October of 2022, the four played at Mr. Smalls Theatre, bringing along Mason Coulter on saxophone to perform ‘Careless Whisper.’ In the following year at the tail end of March, he joined on as an official member to play Saxophone as well as Piano.
