Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival - featuring special guest, Anyah Nancy

The August Wilson African American Cultural Center partners with Pittsburgh International Airport to launch the carefully crafted "JAZZPORT" series, which highlights a handful of Pittsburgh's most promising artists. This series was designed to reiterate the city's rich music history as we approach the 14^th annual Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival taking place September 19^th-22^nd in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh at 980 Liberty Avenue.

Anyah Nancy is an American jazz singer renowned for her soulful and rich tone. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, and nurtured in the church, her voice carries the profound influence of iconic vocalists like Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. Together with her band, Anyah masterfully blends traditional Black jazz with modern soul and R&B, creating a sound that is both timeless and contemporary.

Anyah's musical journey has been shaped by her studies at the African American Music Institute under the guidance of the acclaimed Dr. James Johnson. Her impressive performance record includes appearances at prestigious venues such as Con Alma, the August Wilson Center, Alphabet City, and The Three Rivers Arts Festival. Her talent has also taken her beyond the United States to the Clazz International Music Festival in Tuscany, Italy.

With over 160k streams on her social media platforms and a following of dedicated fans, Anyah's music is already making a significant impact. On the verge of transitioning from a local performer to an independent artist with an international reach, Anyah Nancy is set to release her debut album, “Sounds Like Honey” in the fall of 2025.
