Estelle 
Estelle is a Pittsburgh-based solo modular synthesist seeking to uncover the tonality and sonic texture of nostalgia. In a dense jungle of wires and knobs, she intricately sculpts dreamscapes, pearlescent streams, empty childhood homes, and mystical jubilees. Estelle has orbited Pittsburgh’s underground ambient music and sound art community for nearly 5 years, providing a uniquely meditative experience with each performance.

In 2021 the PIT Art in the Airport program featured Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl performing an ambient set in celebration of Brian Eno’s seminal work “Music for Airports”. In March 2025, travelers and staff at PIT will again experience ambient music by Pittsburgh based musicians/creators inspired by Brian Eno’s work, “Music for Airports”, from March 17^th – March 31^st.

Performances are curated by David Bernabo and R.J. Kozain/2020k. R.J. Kozain's statement - "The sonic exploration contained in Brian Eno’ is one of the most unique pieces of sound design in that it encapsulates every space it’s played in. As a seminal piece of music, it remains timeless and relevant and was a gateway for me into adjacent ambient heroes like Aphex Twin and Hiroshi Yoshimura.

2020k, in theory, is about taking up auditory space from 20Hz all the way to 20kHz — even at its gentlest, my music demands attention. If you listen close enough, amongst that attention contains layers of stillness that act like glue to my music — a stillness I learned and am still learning from Music For Airports and my time playing at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The two acts I’ve co-curated to play this celebratory week alongside me create in the same sort of curious spirit and are voices in the Pittsburgh area that urgently need to have their creativity heard."
